Christmas at Halas Homes
As we are getting close to Christmas time, we thought you would like to read about the plans we have here at Halas Homes, across the residential homes and day centre!
On Sunday 6th December, about thirty of our users will be performing in a two-act Christmas concert! It will be at Quarry Bank Conservative Club. Doors open at 3:30pm and it starts soon after at 4pm, then will finish by 8pm. It will be full of amazing talent as they perform our take on, "Stars in their Eyes" type show, followed by a disco by Stuart, 'Rave My Way'. There will be a bar to buy drinks and snacks. There will be a mix of Christmas songs and classics, such as "White Christmas" to "This Old House".
Our Service Users love to shine and always perform with gusto and the accolation which they receive is such a positive outcome, boosting confidence and self-esteem. They have all chosen who they would like to be and what they would like to sing and will be dressing to impress on the evening.
Lutley Choir are visiting the day centre on Tuesday 15th December to perform their annual concert to our users. This is something we look forward to and always state that once Lutley arrives, Christmas has now officially begun. Lutley Choir have also been such a great supporter to us, as they have selected us as one of their charities. We have also already received a substantial donation which is always appreciated.
On the same evening expect another amazing annual visit, from our friends at the Salvation Army. They bring song, music and joy to all who attend. This is from 7pm until 9pm, and we welcome all to attend and enjoy this evening with us. This will be followed by light refreshments, such as tea, coffee and home made mince pies. Some of our residents will be heading home to spend time with their family over Christmas, while those without will be staying at their homes here with us. Our dedicated caring staff will be helping provide a fun day with delightful Christmas dinners and fun activities across their homes and our day centre. There will be music, movies and mince pies!
Our Halas Academy will also be making a Christmas Special of their, "Come Dine With Us" video series. Each episode focuses on a different student of the Academy as they have chosen their own menu and prepared their food from scratch. It is then presented to those in the group who enjoy the delicious meal and then provide a rating. The first episode will be released soon, so keep your eye out on the Halas Academy Facebook page, and then the Christmas Special soon after!
